Dearest Dottie,
I just learned of this at the pool from Judy. My heart aches for you and your family. Howard was such a gentleman and you two were so devoted. May your family surround you at this time. Love, Susan

Dearest Dottie,

Howard was a wonderful neighbor for many, many years and I will always remember his unending energy working in his yard. Dottie my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Howard was my 7th grade shop teacher, probably in the 1953-1954 school year. He was a wonderful teacher and I learned a great deal from him. He certainly was blessed and will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers to Mr. DeGlopper's family.
My most sincere condolences to the DeGlopper family, especially Mary. While I was not one of his students, I remember him as a very kind and caring teacher at SLHS.
Kathryn Harrison Riggs, Class of 74
I was in Mr. DeGlopper's shop class and graduated from SLHS in 1965. I always enjoyed his class and only wished we had more wood working time. My printing and numbers today are the same that he taught us in mechical drawings. I spent 45 years in the engineering and construction field and I believe I learned how to read constuction drawing in his class. An interesting note, is that I bought his 1955 Pontiac Chieftan. Members of the class of 65 still remeber the orange glow of the hood ornament. I drove that car until the wheels literally fell off. He was one of the best!!
Mrs. DeGlopper, Mary, Howie, Jack, Bob, and Chuck. Thinking of you all and reflecting on so many very nice memories of days spent at the house and in Mr. DeGlopper’s kind presence. I had the good fortune of having your Dad for industrial arts in what turned out to be his last year of teaching if I’m recalling correctly. I received a B. He told me if I were less of a “cut up” he might have given me a better grade. May be rest in peace.
