Howard De Glopper's Obituary
Mr. Howard De Glopper, age 96, of Spring Lake passed away November 11, 2022. He was born February 7, 1926, in Byron Center. On July 15, 1954, he married Dorothy “Dottie” Vander Kam.
Howard was a member of Spring Lake Christian Reformed Church where he served as an elder and deacon. He taught Industrial Arts at Spring Lake High School for 30 years before retiring in 1981. Howard serviced in the Army Air Corps during WWII from 1944-1946. Howard enjoyed gardening, woodworking, where he built his own home and traveling to Florida where they enjoyed wintering.
Howard is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dottie; five children: Mary Goodin of Grand Haven, Howard B. De Glopper of Grand Haven, Jack (Pam) DeGlopper of Allendale, Robert (JoAnn) De Glopper of Jenison, and Charles (Sue) DeGlopper of Holland; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Joan De Glopper. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Lewis Goodin, and granddaughter, Angela Goodin.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Spring Lake Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Drew Sweetman officiating. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at The Spring Lake Chapel, Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 213 E. Savidge Street, Spring Lake, MI 49456. Interment will take place in Spring Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Howard may be given to Spring Lake Christian Reformed Church.
