Mrs. Idabell Tinsley's Obituary
Mrs. Idabell (Near) Tinsley, age 107, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021, in Muskegon. She was born July 8, 1913 to Grover and Blanche (Shaw) Near in Muskegon, and lived most of her life here. She had been an active member at the former East Lawn Reformed Church where she belonged to the Ladies Guild, and was currently a member of Hope Reformed Church. She also enjoyed quilting and doing crafts. On July 4, 1936 she married William Tinsley, and he preceded her in death on August 21, 1994. Survivors include 1 son, Edward G. (Susan) Tinsley; 3 grandchildren, Wendy (Paul) Borowski, Shelley (Tim) Hanson, David (Cheryl) Tinsley, Jr.; 4 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; 1 niece and 1 nephew. She was also preceded in death by 1 son, David, her sister Beatrice Brown, and her brother-in-law Edger Brown. Idabell touched the lives of many people during her long life. Her smile and laugh were infectious. She always loved sharing the stories from her past. Her faith was strong, and she was a shining example of what it means to live for Christ. She was gracious and generous and loved by all who knew her. Limited visitation for Mrs. Tinsley will be Friday, March 12, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444, followed by her funeral service for family only at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place at Mona View Cemetery. Masks are required. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Tinsley may be made to Hope Reformed Church or Christian Care.
