To the Family Of Ilah McCully,
With high regard I remember Ilah's love, patience, and humor with her students when as a college freshman I first observed her teaching at Orchard View. Seeking a teaching degree so that I could teach mentally handicapped individuals, Ilah remained a constant positive role model for me and countless others. Often I called on my memory of her resourcefulness and enthusiasm in teaching "hands-on" Science. When I was faced with teaching without adequate reasources, I used her example to find the resources needed to carry out the tasks at hand. Of course, Mickey, I remember you way back in 7th grade at Lincoln School, especially in the percussion and tuba section in the back of the band. When I met your Mom it was clear from whom you got your sense of humor! Of course our Mona Shores class of 1969 was the best. Sharon, in later years I was not surprised to find you among the ranks of Muskegon County Special Education Teachers, and remember your willingness in the "early days" to try and help unify the County Special Education Curriculum. Your Mom lives on in the lives of all whom she touched. She had a tremendous positive impact on those people and on generations to come. A truly remarkable woman, Ilah may be gone from sight but she most definitely will never be forgotten. Hold fast to your wonderful memories of her, as will so very many.
With Deep Sympathy,
Laurie Sperry.##imported-begin##Laurie Sperry##imported-end##
