Irene Hanna's Obituary
Mrs. Irene M. Hanna, age 86, of Grand Haven passed away Friday, October 10, 2014 at home. She was born November 16, 1927 in Muskegon Heights to Frank and Theresa (Dobos) Hegedus.
Irene was a member of St. Patrick-St. Anthony Catholic Church. In 1958 she and her brother Louie started the Tip-A-Few Tavern until 1976. Irene was a member of the Charles A. Conklin American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. She had a great sense of humor and was able to get along with everyone around her.
On May 22, 1965 she married James Hanna and he preceded him in death on November 2, 2003. She is survived by one son, Patrick Hanna of Grand Haven; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Father Philip Shangraw officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Irene may be given to Father Bill Langlois Education Fund, Hospice of North Ottawa Community, or Harbor Humane Society.
