Irene Marie Rasey's Obituary
Mrs. Irene Marie Rasey, age 88, passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on January 1, 1935 to Orville and Mary (Vanderkooi) Gee. On June 10, 1977, Irene married Howard L. Rasey in Grand Haven and they enjoyed 33 years together prior to his passing in 2010. Irene was employed by Weyburn-Bartel for 12 years prior to her retirement in 1997. She enjoyed reading, going to the salon, ice cream, and traveling, especially to Traverse City and Florida. Most importantly, Irene loved her family and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She is survived by three children, Michelle (Stephen) McClain, Rene (Terry) French, Roger (Angie) Price; son-in-law, Roque Ybarra Sr.; step-daughter, Wendi Shaw; grandchildren, Luke (Nikki) McClain, Amanda (Greg) Childerhose, Jennifer (Tom) Stearns, Kristen (Josh Stafford) French, Taylor French, Paul (Carly Schatzinger) Price, Samantha (Stephen) Galasso, Silas Price, Roque Ybarra Jr., and Rhea Ybarra; great-grandchildren, Noah, Ava, Anna, Ryan, Brenna, Greyson, Soleia, Rowan, Huxley, Parker, Josiah, and Asher; sisters, Katherine Purcell, Virginia Galindo, and Sandy Bennett; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; daughters, Nancy Price and Sheri Ybarra; and siblings, Orville Gee Jr., Norman Gee, Carl Gee, Doris Wilson, Evelyn Furbush, and Marilyn Gee. Irene was laid to rest next to her husband in Fort Custer National Cemetery. A CELEBRATION OF HER LIFE will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Christian Life Center (16765 Hemlock Dr., Spring Lake, MI 49456) with her son-in-law, Rev.
