Iris will always hold a special place in my heart. She treated me like her own and thanks to her I have a profound love of the golden girls and becoming a nurse. I was so hoping to make a trip to Michigan when I graduate but I know she will be there in spirit.
I will never forget the kindness and generosity Iris showed me throughout the years. My most sincere sympathy to her entire family.

Seems like I have known Iris all my life. Her quick smile and hug was such a relief in many ways. I have asthma and was a patient of Dr. Cookingham's for many years and Iris and my mom (Jan Henderson) worked together in his office. Iris has been there for some of my worst days and some of my best. She has been a part of my life and I love her like family. I am so sorry to hear of her passing and I know her family must miss her dearly. I can still hear her in my mind and that sweet accent and manner of speech that was unique to her delightful personality.
Sincere sympathies being sent to Iris's family. I worked with Iris at Dr. Cory Cookingham's office for 10 years. I enjoyed the many conversations that we had. She always mentioned all of her children, grand children and, of course any extras that she had. I never met any of you but, always felt that I knew you? She certainly loved you all. I am sure she certainly will be missed. Heaven gained another great angel!

It is always a sad day when you find out that someone you worked with and cared about passes away. Iris was a true friend to me and I know she was to many, many people she came in contact with through church, family, and work. She loved her kids, Mike, Mark and Jane (husband Mark) and grandkids plus her twin sister Jane and family. A conversation with her always included them and how they were doing. I have not met many of them but I feel I know them through her. She was proud of all of you. She gave many years to her profession of nursing and loved every minute of it. You could always count on her to do her best and then some.
This is the holiday season and for many years she and I would travel to Detroit and do our Christmas shopping at Hudson's in downtown Detroit. Hudson's in those days was the place to shop with all of their windows and store decked out for the holidays.. It was a sight you did not want to miss and we did not miss it. Then we would go out to dinner to cap it off. What fun we had and a lot of good memories. Over the years we would talk on the phone and I would always set aside a few hours for us to catch up on everyone we knew in common and some we did not know in common! I will miss her dearly and our phone conversations but I have so many memories of her running through my head to keep me going. Bless you my dear friend, Jan Henderson
