Our family appreciates your kind words and sharing of your experiences with Jack. Just as you enjoyed your time with him, he also cherished so many of you. I bought Jacks red pickup from him after he could no longer drive. There is still a tobacco pipe in the glove box that he forgot to remove. Once in a while the conditions are just right you can smell the pipe and I cant help but smile and think of the good times we had. Dad you never gave up on me, you held me through the bad times and celebrated the good times as well. I always knew no matter what went wrong I could call you when I needed advice or just a kind ear to listen to me. For that I will be forever greatful.

Dear Precious Family,
Jack shared his biology lab with me for many years until the high school was renovated and I moved down near the new cafeteria.
He was an incredible colleague and friend, always kind, patient, and could answer any anatomy or physiology question I ever asked him. For him to share his lab meant he had to pack up and move out during his planning hour but he never complained. I witnessed his devotion to his science students and also his efforts with the staff of the yearbook as they put in endless hours to record the events of each year. We moved to Chicago a year ago and could not make the service at First Presbyterian but you all were in my thoughts (thanks to the calls I received from Lane Smith) and will continue to be as you continue through life without his presence. The way he felt about your family was obvious to all who knew him. He treasured you and I know you felt the same about him. It is an honor to know all of you. It seems hard to write what is on your heart in a few words. I have found a way to narrow it down. My dad was love. He loved people, especially his family, life and the world God made. He is missed but I know Heaven is rejoicing. May we meet him there.
To all that knew my dad, thank you for touching his life.
To my family, I am so glad we have a common heart in dad, you are the best. I am so thankful we have each other.
To my friends, thank you for your support and help during this time.

Mr. Boyer will always be remembered by me as that "teddy bear" of a man who was always willing to offer help, say "Hi" in the hallway, and congratulate us on our "milestones". Mr. Boyer quietly watch as his students started with him in the 10th grade (squirrely and awkward)...he would help mold us into what we would one day become without expecting anything in return. His gentle, caring and giant presence will forever hold a special place in my heart.
