James H. "Jim" Greer Jr.'s Obituary
James Henry “Jim” Greer Jr., age 72, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025. He was born October 24, 1952, in Dearborn, MI to James and Norma (York) Greer. Jim graduated from Cody High School in Detroit, MI. He was a hard worker and ran operations at several businesses, most recently spending eight years as Director of Operations at Professional Maintenance Company before retiring in 2019. Retirement didn’t slow him down, though—he went on to work as a parts driver for AutoZone for two years, a job he truly enjoyed. On September 9, 1999, Jim married the love of his life, Pamela L. “Pam” Wolffis, in Toledo, Ohio. They shared 26 wonderful years together. A devoted attendee of Ravenna Baptist Church, Jim lived his life with passion and purpose. He was an avid outdoorsman who cherished time spent hunting, fishing, and making memories with his family—especially during deer camp, which he eagerly anticipated each year. A loyal fan of the Detroit Lions and Tigers, Jim also enjoyed playing Words with Friends, even if winning wasn’t his strong suit. His love for classic cars took him to many car shows and races, and he had a special fondness for his trucks, affectionately named Bubba and Bart. One of his favorite ways to unwind was by watching The Repair Shop on the BBC Network. Jim was also a talented trumpet player, playing in Motown and on several recordings. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
