James E. "Jim" Johnson's Obituary
Mr. James E. Johnson, age 68, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 6, 2004 at his home in Muskegon. He was born April 6, 1936 to James L. and Zora (Ranney) Johnson in Tuscola County, MI, but had lived most of his life in Muskegon. Mr. Johnson served in the United States Army as a Radio Electrician. After the Army, he worked for Steel Fabricating Corporation as a draftsman, and retired in 1983. Mr. Johnson loved motor homing throughout the United States and Canada. On June 4, 1955, he married the former Lois Crago in Muskegon, and she preceded him in death along with his father; his father-in-law, Richard “Red” Crago; 1 sister-in-law, Marge (Crago) Mosher; and 1 brother-in-law, Don Mosher. He is survived by 2 sons, Eric J. (Rebecca) Johnson and Paul R. Johnson, both of Muskegon; a grandson, Evan J. Johnson; his mother, Zora Johnson; his mother-in-law, Winifred Crago; 1 brother, Randy Johnson of Seattle, WA; 2 brothers-in-law, Richard (Alyce) Crago and Jim (Kathy) Crago; 2 sisters, Naomi Highway of Whitehall and Mary Lombard of Montague; 1 sister-in-law, Mary (Sam) Moler; many nieces, nephews, and longtime friend, Hilda Bennett. SERVICES will be 1 PM Friday at The Walburn Chapel-Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., 231-759-8565 with Rev. David A. Selleck officiating. Visitation with the family will be 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Thursday at the Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery.
