Jim was a special guy who I will miss. As I grew up, I spent a lot of time with the Doe's when on Brentwood and Jim and Mary Ellen were wonderful hosts when their house was overrun with teenagers. Jim was good role model, and kept us informed of work stuff and he liked to tinker just as much as the teenage boys. Many fond memories will last, and it brings joy to our hearts that Jim is now with his savior Jesus in Heaven. Our Prayer go out to Mary Ellen, David, Barb, Karen, Scott and the rest of the family.##imported-begin##Jeff and Debbie Bozeman##imported-end##
Dear Maryellen and Family,
We were so saddened to hear of the passing of Jim. We have been good friends and classmates since the third
grade at Lincoln. He will be greatly
missed by all that knew him.

I attended Lincoln School with Jim and Muskegon Heights High School. He was very generous with his time in organizing our class reunions. He will be greatly missed at the next reunion.##imported-begin##Claudette Bandock Johnson##imported-end##
My sincere condolences to the family. I worked with Jim for a number of years at Getty Street and learned a lot from him. He was always helpful and had a great sense of humor (not to mention a laugh you could never forget). Being fellow alumni, we also shared many memories of our respective times spent at Michigan Tech. Godspeed, Jim.##imported-begin##Rick Easterly##imported-end##
Jims generous love for all people will be remembered for years to come. It has been a great honor to have shared a few of those good times with him. His presence will be sorely missed at VFW Post 446. His energy in all he set out to do will always be in many of our minds when we scrub floors or hang a picture or the many other projects he set out to do for the post. Jims passing so suddenly was a great shock to us all, but I know in my heart jim is doing the carpenter work for his Lord now, and he is definately pain free. I will miss you my friend, so I give your family my deepest sympathy.##imported-begin##Ed Black##imported-end##

Sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I worked with Jim for 30 years in engineering and always respected his opinions. I also did some bowling and golfing with Jim. He was a very fun guy. My thoghts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Stan##imported-begin##Stan Gorecki##imported-end##
Mary Ellen. Over the years, my husband and I would often run in to you and Jim at the 'Doo Drop Inn'(now gone), where he often was talking and laughing with the hostess, 'Irene', our mutual friend...and I could always count on a nice, warm hug from Jim...He will be missed by many. Unfortunately, I'm all too familiar with 'losing' family, and just recently lost the last of my three sons, Greg....My husband Jack died in 2003, also after 50 years of marriage...my heart goes out to you.
