We have known the Dethloff family for many years. We all attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Muskegon Heights together for many years. Charlie and Margaret were friends and we were in a bridge group together until her death. Of course we knew Rick at that time and heard about him and his accomplishments through the years. Then he married Jan and we kept up with his family and work through those years. Mom and dad were so very proud of him and Jan and their family. They gave them a lot of pleasure in all of their endeavors.
Jan was a special person and always smiling and had a very positive attitude. What a loss for their family. We are very lucky to have known all of them. We hope that you have wonderful memories to sustain all of you through these difficult days.

Jan was one of the sweetest ladies that i have ever met. Always took the time to talk when i caught her at home. I know that she is dearly missed by all who knew her, especially her family. . To the Dethloff family, I am so sorry for your extremely huge loss. She was a great lady.
