Walt, I was so saddened to learn of Jan's passing. My cousin Dick let me know. He also shared what a difficult time she and you experienced in the later stages of her life. I know how much she loved you and Brad. She was a wonderful team member at Quality Farm and Fleet. I am sending a memorial from the Hilt Foundation to Trinity Lutheran Church. Aunt Jan was one of the dearest people I have known. She was so welcoming and warm. I did not get to see her often but each year we would receive our annual Chrismas card that always brought a smile to my face. She was a true light in the world.
I enjoyed being with Aunt Jan, Uncle Walt and Brad over Christmas and New Year's Day. I remember watching college football games, family time and good food. Aunt Jan always had a smile on her face and we spent countless hours with with my Dad and Uncle Brian--time that I wish we had back. Someone below said that Aunt Jan was a "ray of sunshine". She has always been that, and a ray of sunshine that will be missed dearly.
Love you very much, Aunt Jan. Pest in Peace and may God Bless you. May God also comfort Uncle Walt and Brad at this most difficult time.

My special ties to Jan go way back to Sept. 6, 1953, when she served as a baptismal sponsor for me at Trinity Lutheran Church. I've been back there numerous times down through the years, and could always count on seeing her cheerful, wide smile and receiving a welcoming hug, which I am going to miss so much on future visits from my home in Dripping Springs, TX. I hope everyone who mourns her loss will take joy in the faith and love she shared while she was with us. The picture I'm sharing now is one that I copied from my sister Carla's family album a couple of years ago. Jan must have been about 14 years old at the time, when I was baptized on my Dad's birthday just 3 weeks after I was born. We first met when we worked together at the hospital. Then our paths crossed again as our church secretary & eventually my friend. My loss is heavens gain ... until we meet again. Rest in eternal glory, dear Jan. 🙏💔
I remember of having some nice and meaningful conversations with Jan during her employment at Hackley Hospital. Jan’s beauty and love of life were inspiring. I will remember you fondly.
