Jean Karell was my Grandmother. My childhood memories are full of good times together. Along with many others in Grand Haven, she taught me how to swim, sail, and love the water. I remember her taking me camping at the state park, sleep overs where we would roast hot dogs and marshmallows in her fireplace, singing songs, picking raspberries along the side of her house, putting up her Christmas tree every year with my cousins, Christmas morning at her house, trick-or-treating in her neighborhood every year with my Dad, open swim at the high school once a week in elementary school, playing Old Maid card games, helping her cook dinner using my very own apron she kept in her kitchen for me, parking in her driveway every day during high school, and many more. As a child I was always greeted at her door with open arms and big hug.##imported-begin##Lisa Nowlen##imported-end##
