Greene I; sister, Doris Berghuis, sister, Ada Mae (Jackie) Lund; brother-in-law, Paul Zeckzer of Detroit; sister-in-law, Joyce Cowan of Los Angeles; nephew, Don Conley and grand niece, Lissie Berghuis Peake. She is survived by her daughter, Carolynne Dykhuis (Dave), grandsons, Ben (Shana) & Jason Dykhuis, grandson Daric J. (Yumiko) Zeckzer; daughter-in-law Kelly Miller; grandsons, Darrell P. Zeckzer, Jr. and Gordon Zeckzer and special adopted granddaughter, Robin Kiggins & Mikey. Also surviving are sister-in-law, Pat Hoos (Robert) and special sister-in-law and friend, Patty Greene. “Auntie” leaves many beloved nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She loved them all so much. Mom was a member of Central Community Church and sang many years in the church choir. She also was a member of “The Cardinal Cloggers” for 14 years and enjoyed making most of their costumes for their many performances. Never one to leave something unfinished, she graduated from high school in 1990 at the age of 70. She was so happy to get that diploma and we were all so proud of her. Mom’s hands were always busy—either with sewing, crocheting, gardening, canning, cooking or baking. You could always find a home baked cookie, or a piece of pie waiting for you to enjoy. My grandma Greene came to this country as a young girl from Denmark, and Mom was very proud of her Danish heritage and enjoyed spending time in her younger years with her Danish relatives. Mom had many ups and downs in her years, but her love for her Lord has helped her thru. I know that she is wrapped up in His loving arms. My mom was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. SERVICES will be 2 PM Thursday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Avenue 231-726-5210 with Pastor Tim VanderHaar officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. VISITATION with be 7-9 PM Wednesday and 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday.
