Having lived as neighbors on Jefferson Street 55-60 years ago, imagine my surprise in meeting Jeanne once again as a neighbor of my mother-in-law at Seminole Shores. I sat and talked with her on many occasions and shared memories of growing up on Jefferson Street. She was still very sharp and it was fun to talk with her about the old days. Always a perfect lady, she never had a hair out of place and was proud of being 94 years of age. We were amazed at her ability to take on complicated crossword puzzles and play card games competitively as well. For the family one anecdote that we will never forget - a few months ago Jeanne had to be taken to the hospital and it was determined that she was dehydrated from not regularly drinking her water. So, having experienced the same problem with our Mother, we often stopped to see Jeanne when visiting Seminole Shores and asked if she was drinking her water. Her response on one occasion, " Water is no fun to drink; it would be so much better with a little scotch in it !"
To Cassie and Karen and the broader Comeau family, we are very sorry for your loss but feel absolutely blessed to have had the opportunity to interact with Jeanne over the past 20 months. She was one sophisticated and classy lady. May our God be with you as you lay her to rest. m
Warmest personal regards,
Don and Linda Potter
