Jeanne Margaret Comeau's Obituary
Mrs. Jeanne Margaret (Blais) Comeau, age 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 8, 2013. She was the daughter of Louis and Angela (LeMeiux) Blais and was the oldest of ten children. She married Camille “Kim” Comeau in 1939; and after 57 years of marriage, he preceded her in death in 1996.
Jeanne was a pioneer business woman. Her career as a Real Estate Broker included having her own Brokerage Firm and later retiring from Vollmer Realty, where she served as an Associate Broker and Office Administrator. She held many leadership positions in the community including: Former President of Muskegon Red Cross, the Mercy Hospital Guild and the Muskegon Garden Club. She was also very active in the Cancer Society and the Minerva Dill Questors. She was a worldwide traveler and enjoyed gardening, floral arranging, antiquing and was an avid card player. Her family was her pride and joy. She loved to entertain and was the “Ultimate Hostess”.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers and their spouses: Robert (Marva), George “Bunny” (Pat), Richard, Joseph (Pat) and Herbert; sister: Louise (Ted) Price and brother-in-law: James Geraty. She is survived by her two daughters: Karen (Martin) Mathews and Catherine “Cassy” (Gary) Marchido; four grandchildren, Michele (Bill) Baird, Renee (Tom) Cox, Mark (Tara) Marchido and Molly Shepherd and 7 great-grandchildren. Her surviving siblings include: Ann Geraty, Tom (Karen) Blais and Jerry (Bonnie) Blais and also by many nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was a member of St. Jean Baptiste Catholic Church where The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 11, 2013. VISITATION with Jeanne’s family will be from 10-11:00 AM Wednesday at Church, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Muskegon Catholic Education Foundation, of which Jeanne was an avid supporter; Harbor Hospice or the charity of your choice. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the entire staff and management of Seminole Shores Assisted Living Center for their loving and outstanding care during her 20 month residency.
