Jerry A. Jonas' Obituary
Mr. Jerry A. Jonas, 73, passed away early Saturday, May 9, 2015. Born January 26, 1942 in Muskegon to Paddy and Hazel (Davey) Jonas, he was a life resident of Muskegon. On May 12, 1962 he married the love of his life, Alma J. “Rusty” Holstein May 12, 1962 in Muskegon Heights, and she died May 8, 2005. Jerry had been a pattern maker for several area shops, and retired from Paragon Pattern. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Custer, and the Vikings Lodge in Muskegon. His SURVIVORS include his children: Todd A. (Ronda) Jonas of Manton, Troy A. (Suzanne) Jonas of Coopersville, Terry A. (Leesha) Jonas of Fruitport, and Tracy A. Jonas of Grand Rapids; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers Don (Pat) Jonas and Robert Jonas; sisters Nancy (Dave) Wingate and Louise Daunt; and a special friend, Barb Vargo. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and sisters Doris Wiersma, Bev Stewart, and Patsy Timmons. VISITATION will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, 49442, phone 231-726-5210. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 14, 2015 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 3252 Apple Ave., with Rev. Fr. Antony Britto as Celebrant.
