Jerry R Wood's Obituary
Jerry Ramon Wood, age 78, passed away peacefully September 10, 2024, after a courageous 8-year battle with lung cancer. Jerry was born, July 9, 1946, in Muskegon to Raymond and Bessie (Zavitz) Wood. On September 19, 1970, he married the love of his life, Carol Shafer. Jerry was a veteran of the Army. He retired from GTE after a 30 plus year career. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and spending time with his kids and grandkids. One of his favorite things to do was take rides around Lake Michigan with his wife Carol. Jerry is survived by his children: Jodi (Jim) Luttrull, Jeff (Michelle Finck) Wood; grandchildren: Brock and Brady (Alyssa) Luttrull, Mason, Parker, Sienna, Ava and Aubree Wood, Hannah (Brandon) Demos, Abbi and Jake Finck; great-grandchildren: Easton and Tate Luttrull and Eleanor Demos; brothers: Jack (Joan) Wood, Roger Wood; sister: Paula Johnson; brother-in-law: Ron (Bonnie Lee) Shafer; sister-in-law: Marlene Leiter and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Carol Ann Wood; sister, Joan Wood; brother-in-law: Ron Johnson and sister-in-law, Linda Wood. In accordance with his wishes no services will be held.
