Jerry Alyn Kohler's Obituary
Jerry A. Kohler, age 67, of Spring Lake, Michigan, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2006 after a long and brave struggle with cancer. He was born July 23, 1939 in Fremont, Ohio, to Fred F. and Marie (Flook) Kohler, and he married Sara Lou Hyatt on July 25, 1959.
Jerry graduated from Union High School in 1957. He had a long and successful career with Montgomery Ward working his way from entry level to management positions at the corporate headquarters in Chicago, IL. After spending more than 25 years with Montgomery Ward, Jerry began a successful sales career in the retail automotive accessory market. His most recent position was National Sales Manager with Vector Manufacturing in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed boating, fishing, tinkering with his cars and following his beloved Ohio State Buckeye football team. He also loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and many friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sara (Hyatt); his mother, Marie Kohler of Mansfield, OH; his daughter, Sherilee (Thomas) Bertellotti of Fishers, IN; his son, Michael Kohler of Muskegon, MI; his grandchildren, Kendra Kohler, and Brian and Jacob Bertellotti; and his brother, Fred (Debbie) Kohler Jr. of Ontario, OH.
The first service for Jerry will be Monday 8:00 p.m. at VanZantwick, Bartels, Kammeraad Chapel in Spring Lake with a time of visitation from 6-8 p.m. A service in Mansfield, Ohio will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. from First Christian Church with Rev. Chris Whitehead officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be at Chestnut Grove cemetery in Mansfield, OH.
