Mrs. Jill S. Bennett's Obituary
Mrs. Jill S. Bennett, age 66, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017 surrounded by her family following a long battle with a rare autoimmune disease. She was born on July 21, 1951 to Jack and Olga (Dratz) Wiersma in Muskegon. Jill graduated from Mona Shores High School and Ferris State University. She served as a waitress at Doo Drop Inn for over 30 years and was a member of Celebration Community Church. On August 23, 1997, Jill married Fred Bennett in Muskegon. Jill was an extremely giving and spiritual person. She liked to go on walks, swim and stay active. Jill will be deeply missed by her father, Jack; daughters, Lindsay Wiersma and Courtney (Kevon) Nichols; step-sons, Nicholas (Jamie) Bennett and Alex (Caroline) Bennett; grandchildren, Hunter, Brandon, Braylon, William, Ashlynn, Ava, Kevon Jr., Alivia, David and Amelia; brother, Scott (Michelle) Wiersma; nephew, Jordan (Ashley) Wiersma; great-nephew, Gabriel; aunt, Joyce (Kenneth) Johnson; and friends, Jeri Masser, Judy Dodge and Bruce Cozier. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; and mother, Olga. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, January 5, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Pastor Matt Eenigenburg officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 PM.
