Aunt Corina, John, Ron, Barb & Don,
Katherine and I are so saddened by the loss of your husband and father. I have so many happy and wonderful memories of spending time with your family and always remember the special joy that Uncle John brought to every gathering. I can still see him on skates clearing the snow off the homemade ice rink in your yard. And of course causing all kinds of mischief around the campfire as we all camped together at Round Lake. I know in my heart that he was a better golfer when he had his tongue sticking out of his mouth just a little bit. I'll never forget his cup of milk and sugar with just a little coffee added so it qualified as a "cup of coffee"; his sweet tooth, especially for chocolate covered doughnuts; and, his quick wit and the ability to make all of us laugh at his observations on life. He was a die-hard Red Wings fan and tolerated the Tigers most of the time, unless he was arguing with grandma, and like a lot of us, didn't have much use for the Lions.
Last night as we celebrated New Year's Eve, I drank a whiskey and ate a pecan praline in his memory, it made me smile.
