John Lech
I am John Lech of St. Clair Shores, Mi. I met Gibbs (we always refereed to each other by last names) in the 1980’s. One of my closest friends was Mike Fraser, and he introduced me to Gibbs. We traveled to Dallas, Texas because Fraser was supposed to get married. (again) while we were there, one evening, the 4 of us (me, Gibbs, Fraser, and Fraser’s dad) went to a Medieval Dinner Theatre where we were instructed to eat the dinner with only our hands. No utensils. Gibbs, knowing this ahead of time, snuck a knife and fork in to eat his dinner and when one of the king’s guards saw him eating this way, was dragged up to the stage and ridiculed by the king and his subjects. Gibbs took the ribbing well, and we all laughed about it afterwards. I wish I had photographic evidence of the night. Come to think about him, Gibbs was always neat and tidy.
