Our oldest son, Jason, had the privilege to have Mr. Halloran as his English teacher. He turned him on to reading books! He came home one day and told me he loved reading and talking about the books in Mr. Halloran's class. Mr. Halloran listened to everyone's opinions and never told anyone they were right or wrong. What a beautiful way to also teach wonderful listening skills and tolerance skills!
This past Spring our granddaughter, Sydney Olthoff, received the John Halloran English Department award. We were so proud of her receiving the award that was given in John's honor.
Our sympathy to your family. John was a great man and a great educator that changed the lives of many young people.

One of my favorite teachers ever! From MSHS class of 1975. RIP Mr. Halloran. You are one of the reasons I love to read!
