John L. Raap's Obituary
Mr. John L. Raap, age 67, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 8, 2022. He was born August 10, 1954 to George and Annabell (Conran) Raap in Ravenna, MI. A lifelong resident of the area, John married the former Rita May Wilson on May 27, 1972 and they shared 49 wonderful years together. John enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, feeding the fish at his pond, camping, and casino trips. He was a hard worker and his strong work ethic was reflected in Triple R Construction, the company he owned, as well as several other businesses. He liked to tinker around with things and could fix just about anything he put his mind to. He also enjoyed antique cars including his 69 Chevelle and 69 Corvette. He liked to travel with family to many places including Tennessee, Yellowstone, Disneyworld, and Mackinaw Island. More importantly, John was a family man. He loved his wife, children, and above all else, his grandsons who he adored. John loved spending time with his family, and created many cherished memories of their crazy adventures. He will be fondly remembered as someone who always stood up for what he believed in, and the type of person willing to drop everything to help others when they called. John is survived by his wife Rita; children, Missy Tibbs, Pam (Tim) Dial, and John (Alicia) Raap; grandchildren, Andrew Dial, Camren Dial, Carsen Dial, Dean Tibbs, Jayden Raap, Austin Raap, Mason Raap; great grandson, Westin Tibbs; and several brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Mary Lou Hladki and George J. Raap. A private service will be held at this time for Johns immediate family. A special thank you to Dr. Tim Beechnau for providing the family with great care and friendship. A public celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
