John C. Thompson, age 84, of Spring Lake passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 6, 2020. John was born November 8, 1936, in Chicago, IL to Clare and Donna (Kwet) Thompson. At a young age John’s family moved to the west side of Read Obituary
John and I went to school together K through 12, at Oakleigh and CC. And were kind of back yard neighbors with only fields separating us between 7th & Oakleigh. Our parents were close friends, belonging to Holy Spirit’s Mr &Mrs Club for many years. John and I and John Zant were the first Holy Spirit Catholic Central graduates in 1954. He was a good, quiet friend in those bygone days.
Our family is saddened to hear about the loss of John Thompson. We hold many memories in our hearts of family times spent with each other and John at his place in White Cloud. My parents, sister and I could not be more thankful for all the wonderful childhood memories we had there, it’s something that can never be replaced. I remember him and my grandpa sharing laughs, stories and a good cooked meal at the dinner table like it was yesterday. Over the past few years we were able to return to White Cloud as adults with John and we are so grateful we had that time with him. He truly was the best host. Say hello to our dad/grandpa, John, I can only imagine the warm reunion it must have been!
