John H. Butner Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. John H. Butner, Jr., passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at the University of Chicago Hospital. He was born in Atchison, Kansas on November 28, 1944 to John and Helen (Berry) Butner. Mr. Butner was a teacher in the Muskegon Heights School System and taught for 31 years at Martin Luther King Elementary School. John was a member of the M.E.A. and the M.H.E.A. He enjoyed being a volunteer for local Democratic candidates, and loved all things Irish. On August 19, 1967, he married Mary Jane (Shields) in Malden, Massachusetts. She survives him along with 3 sons, Andrew Butner of Chicago, IL, Nicholas Butner of Kalamazoo, MI and Matthew (Felicia) Butner of Richmond, VA, as well as a brother, Joseph (Rhoda) Butner. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Sharon Irene. MEMORIAL MASS will be Monday, February 5, 2007 at 1:00 PM at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church, Marian Chapel with Rev. Fr. Julian Reginato presiding. VISITATION will be 2-5 PM Sunday at
