What a shock it was to hear of John's passing. I know John from when he used to date my sister, Wendy, some 25 years ago. He always had my family laughing whenever he was over to our house. I then moved to Flint, MI and would see him from time to time when I would visit Muskegon. He would be delivering mail in the old mall. He was the most caring, funniest, and geniune person I know. Dear Cliff,Vivian,Sue and children,
John was a beautiful person inside and out and made me feel so welcomed into the family from the beginning when I met him in Texas. He will be sadly missed. For the children..this will be a difficult time for you and my heart breaks for you, just know that your dad was an awesome man,friend,cousin,nephew,son,brother and daddy. It was not my privilege to know John. With the expanding family generations and the travels of many to distant locations, our paths were never to cross. My memories of dear Aunt Alice, now 89, will have to portray John to me. I'm sure he will be missed. My condolences are with his family in these parting hours.

I have not seen John since we attended HHS together too many years ago, but my parents have always updated me when they heard things about what he was doing. John was kind and caring in school, and grew up to become an adult that I would have loved to have as a neighbor and as a friend. Our sincerest condolences on the passing of our good friend John. He and I had the opportunity to be in several productions at our church together. We became friends and went to Detroit to see a Red Wings game together. John was one of the most caring individuals I have had the privelege of meeting. He was a wonderful father and friend. He walked the walk and talked the talk that a Christian should. He was a great witness and mentor, and he will be sorely, sorely missed. I wish we had had more time with him. Our prayers are with his children and family and friends.

My deep sorrow and sympathy goes out to you, his beloved family. I know that you are experiencing tremendous heartache and sadness at this time, and I lift all of you up to God's embrace. Know that during the difficult days ahead you will never walk alone because Jesus will be right beside you all the way. God knows your grief - remember he also lost a son - but that son was resurrected to new life, as is John. God understands that you miss him as do all of us who were privileged to call him friend.
