Leaving here in Arlington, VA I don't often hear what's happen in Muskegon. I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad! My last memory of him was at an arts and craft show (?)with the turquoise jewelry he crafted and I was totally amazed with his and your mom's talents. My heart goes out to both and you and your families.

How wonderful our God is to give us such loving parents to help us mature in our life. Parents that cared for us so that we can become who we are today. I am positive both your mother and father are being acknowledged by God for their tasks that they have accomplished here on earth. The unknown of our next life is a journey that only your parents know right now. From what I know, it is glorious and beautiful. I look forward to that day of meeting my loved ones in heaven. This promise is what I cherish and am thankful to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I pray He give you peace as you go through this loss. I will be praying for you and your family.

I knew John for several years in the early days of my tenure as a police/court reporter for The Muskegon Chronicle. I remember him as a very pleasant, reasonable person to deal with. He was always willing to be helpful in working with the press.
My condolences to his family, especially his two daughters, whom I knew in the "old days" in Muskegon.
