Deb, Denis & Ellen,

May God's peace fill your hearts in the knowledge that John has received the gift of eternal life.

You are not only very special friends, but you are like family to me. I grieve with you during this time of loss and at the same time laugh over the wonderful memories of our times together. It seems like just yesterday we were all sitting in the kitchen on Exchange Street, and you two kids and Lindsey were just little children running around. We have so many fond stories we can share about John.

Denis and Ellen, you can be very proud of your Dad as he will be remembered as a man of compassion, unselfishness and full of love for his family and friends! You brought him much joy!!!

Ellen - It is you and your Dad that we came to know over the years at Quick Cuts. Dad (Walt Sr.) always appreciated the patience and understanding extended him during his visits to the shop, particularily your Dad's kind consideration - to make conversation without expecting reciprocation. For Dad, getting his hair cut was a big undertaking considering his limitations and a topic of discussion days before the trip across the street. Once Dad made it to his chair your Dad made it a pleasant experience. John,
You were like a father to me, in only positive ways. I loved spending time with you, whether it was running errands, our "dinner & a movie nights", walking Scooter or just talking and hanging out.
You were a wonderful and loving father to Denis and Ellen, a fantastic grandfather to Halle, and I know you would have been excellent with Kolton and my own kids one day.
I wish we could've had more time together, you definitely left us too soon. I will miss you more than words can express- but rest in peace knowing that we take comfort in the fact that you are in a far better place now, a place without physical pain- but with plenty of wine spritzers and Miller Lite.
