John William Koegel's Obituary
John William Koegel, age 63, of Spring Lake passed away Thursday, August 9, 2007, at his home. He was born August 3, 1944, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to Herbert and Ellen (O’Lauglin) Koegel.
Mr. Koegel served his country in the U.S. Air Force, and he owned and operated Quick Cuts in Grand Haven until his retirement two years ago. He was a member of the Grand Haven Elks Lodge #1200, the Eagles Lodge, and a former member of the American Legion. He enjoyed golf, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter, Ellen (Bob) Kitchka of Muskegon; a son, Denis (Ellie Swanson) Koegel of Spring Lake; two grandchildren, Halle Holmes and Kolton Kitchka; two sisters, Carol Brennan and Louise Williams, both of Florida; a step-sister, Barb (Bill) Smith of Florida; a sister-in-law, Patricia Koegel of Florida; and a step-brother, Richard Brooks of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Herb.
A time of remembering and sharing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Spring Lake. Memorial contributions to a charity of choice are appreciated. Share memories with the family at their online guest book at www.vbkfuneralhome.com.
