Tom Selander
I was so sorry to read this. My condolences to the Allard family.
I met Joe in the summer of 1969 as we were both working at the Muskegon County Road Commission. He was just out of the Service—and he was ready to enjoy his life back in Muskegon, golf and baseball.
His stories of being in Vietnam were amazing to hear just as his stories of the beginnings of the Mona Shores football program. Add to that he had a nice 1966 Chevy convertible to ride around in that summer. Life was good.
Ran into him occasionally over the years and always got a warm greeting and handshake.
I have met few people in my life as memorable as Joe even though our paths only crossed for one summer.
Resident In Peace.
