Joseph E. "Joe" Allard's Obituary
Joseph E. “Joe” Allard, age 76, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 29, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was born November 6, 1948, in Muskegon to Raymond and Lila (Tyler) Allard. Joe was a 1966 graduate of Mona Shores High School and attended Central Michigan University. He was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran having served his country from December 18, 1967, until January 6, 1969. During that time, he served as a squad leader and participated in several combat operations in Vietnam. Joe was the Mona Shores Homecoming Hometown Hero in 2019, receiving recognition for his military service and support of Mona Shores. Joe has been selected by Mona Shores Golf to be the 2026 Veteran Honoree at the Corporal B Invitational at American Dunes Golf Club. During his career, he worked for The Muskegon Chronicle, Brunswick Corporation, and then for Sappi Fine Paper Company, from which he retired. On May 14, 1983, he married Linda Stuhan in Muskegon, and they spent a wonderful 42 years together. Joe was an avid golfer and was a member of the Oakridge Golf Club, where he carded a hole-in-one on hole number 2 and still had a goal of one day shooting his age. Joe was a member of the Muskegon Elks Lodge #274 and their golf league for many years, and the VFW Post #3195. He was a huge supporter of Mona Shores, was a Michigan State, Tigers, and Red Wings fan, bowled a 300 game, and loved to travel with Linda. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family. Joe was his children’s and grandchildren’s biggest fan and rarely missed a game. He was so very proud of them all. Joe will be missed by all who knew him. SURVIVORS include his wife, Linda; two children: Brent (Rebecca) Allard of Corona, CA and Kelley (Todd Robinson) Allard of Norton Shores; four grandchildren: Caroline, Brooke, Addison, and Cooper; three brothers: Chuck Allard, Brad Allard, and Steve (Bonnie) Allard; sister, Rochelle (Allard) Anderson; many nieces and nephews and loving in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Joe’s Life will take place 11:00 AM Saturday, June 14, 2025, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S.
