Uncle Joe was a extraordinary, caring and talented human being. He has always been a role model to me. He never complained, was always helping somebody and sincerely cared about other people. He brought Aunt Marvel over so that my mother could visit with her sister though the trips had to be taxing and boring for him. He remained interesting in learning and involved his entire life. He loved to share his knowledge and experience unselfishly. When I had trouble rebuilding a engine, Joe was there. When a nylon gear in my Mother's lift chair kept stripping, Joes somehow made a worm gear out of brass. When Joe, John and I went to the flying tiger air museum, a place which had bored me on several prior occasions, it suddenly came alive for me as Uncle Joe shared his knowledge and experiences with us. He was one of the last of our Greatest Generation and will be deeply missed by many and fondly remembered always,.
