Joseph C. Vig's Obituary
Mr. Joseph C. “Joe” Vig, age 91, passed away Saturday morning, August 10, 2013 in Muskegon. He was born November 14, 1921 to Julius and Helen (Oroz) Vig in Bridgman, MI, and moved to the Muskegon area in 1935. Joe worked as a tool designer for Mid West Spring Company, retiring in 2001, and also had worked at American Coil Spring and Michigan Spring.  He was a WWII U. S. Army Air Corp. veteran and belonged to the VFW. Joe was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. He loved music – especially theater organ. On October 13, 1951 Joe married Marvel E. Lindsey , and she survives him along with 3 children, LuAnn (Tom) Ruthkoski of Norton Shores, Dianne L. Vig of Clermont, FL, Joseph C. (Sheri) Vig, Jr. of Grand Rapids; 4 grandchildren, Traci (Molly Nuzzo) Ruthkoski, Jason Ruthkoski, Joseph Carl Vig III, Eric Vig; and many nieces and nephews from both Joe and Marvel’s families.  He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, John and Julius Vig; 6 sisters, Marie Friedheim, Betty Wentzloff, Helen Beecham, Julia Bruno, Rosie Balawender, Katie Dupont; and his mother and father.THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL  will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 14, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Marian Chapel,  with the Rev. Fr. Philip P. Salmonowicz presiding. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.,The Walburn Chapel,
