To Josie's family'
I just wanted to say how sorry I was to hear of Josie's passing. I did her hair off and on for over 30 years until I retired! My older ladies through the years always were more than just clients and friends, they were like grandmothers to me. I have lost so many of them through the years but each and everyone of them has touched my lives in a special way. Josie was such an amazing and lovely lady that I enjoyed every time she came to the shop. She had such a zest for life, still playing her cards in her 90's and her mind was so sharp. She would brag about how much she would win playing Yuker at the legion each week. She loved her beer and sauerkraut! It was good for her and who could argue the fact. She had so many interesting stories to tell and I loved hearing each and every one of them. I can tell you one thing she always loved to talk about was her family. She so loved each and everyone of you. I almost feel like I know all of you through Josie! Knowing she is with her beloved Joe and her family in heaven helps to ease the pain of losing her. She never wanted to be a burden to her family and it was hard for her to not be able to do what she used to do. I know she is up there looking down and smiling on each and everyone of you! Rest in peace dear Josie, you were loved and will be missed. My thoughts and prayrs are with you.

Grandma

You always had a big meal ready,in thorning or at dinner.You made me eat all the good foods which helped me out for my future in haveing diabities .I remember playing cards with you and learning the yuker tricks .so many nice times on the river and going to the fish fry.learning polka...wish you the best and thankyou for the time I got to share with you..Love always Nick Levandowski

Pat & Bill & Famiy, I had the pleasure of meeting this Grand Lady in December when I started to deliever her meal. I Loved the Spunk and Twinkle in her eyes. She always made me laugh. It was always my pleasure to visit when I would stop. She will be missed greatly by all who Loved and knew her. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Love and prayers and God's peace to Pat and Bill and family. Lives get busy, get- togethers become fewer and fewer, but memories never do. Max and I fell in love with Josie when we first met her. She could be funny, spunky, and we loved her 'take no guff' attitude. Her and Joe have always been two of our favorite people. Josie was like a second Mom to us both. Now she is in the arms of the angels and of her beloved Joe. Now they can polka with the angels. She will be missed and always loved. God's blessings to you all.

Joe and Josie became my Godparents, when I was about 12. I have soooo many fond memories of time spent at their house on Aue Rd., while growing up. Their home was indeed a "Safehouse" for me to be at, back then. Those were ALWAYS happy times! Jokester Bobby, bashful Dick and vivacious Patti Ann......what a trio! ;o)

And the parties!.....let us not forget them~
In the Summer, they were in the garage; and Winter, in the basement. Lotsa food and lotsa music provided by Bob and Dick......and, of course, lotsa Polka dancing!!

Grandma,

Some of my fondest childhood memories are the times I spent with you and Grandpa. I remember all of your bright and beautiful flowers (may be why now I have such a Green Thumb!). I remember all the food you would cook and want us girls to eat. I remember all the games of Uker (not sure if that is how you spell it) I remember swimming in the river. I remember floating down the river. I remember putting the sprinkler system in on the river. I remember taking showers at the river and holding my breath so that I did not have to smell the water! I remember the rainbow colored shag carpart throughout the house. I remember you reading the gossip magazines (and believing them!) I remember all the money you won gambling. I remember riding up and down the street on the little fifty motorcycle and you trying to get me to come into the house. I remember all the hugs and kisses you gave me. I remember all the strawberries you let me eat. I remember the tons of pickles you always gave us when you visited. I remember that funny noise you made when you picked your teeth with a toothpick (crazy memory, but I do remember that noise for some reason). I remember all the times we went to church and you would hold my hand and introducted me to all your friends. I remember all those bingo games and how you had such a system down for winning. I remember you rocking in your chair and falling asleep. I remember how your hair was the same from the time you went to the Beauty Shop to the next time you went, about 1 week! I remember you waking us up on the mornings we stayed at your house with your little bathrobe and bare feet and the one curler in front of your head. I remember you telling us how much Grandpa snored, when in truth and fact, you snored just as loud! I remember how Uncle Bill used to get you to laugh so hard, you would cry and many more.

I am comforted by your relationship with my Father over the recent years. I am glad he was able to spend time with you and for you to have spent time with him. I will always remember your laugh and your love for angels. I know in my heart that you are now sitting with the angels, as you should be. You will always be, as you have always been, in my prayers.

Grandma Josie,
I had the great pleasure of knowing and loving you for 26 years. You were the kindest lady I knew. You always treated me like I was your grand-daughter and I have always thought of you as my grandma. I have too many wonderful memories of you to mention them all. I always had a good time when I was around you. For the past several years I would come up to your place and clean your floors and wash your windows or whatever you needed done. Most of the time spent was at your kitchen table talking and laughing. Whenever you would try to give me money, I would always tell you no, and you would get so mad at me, about a month and a half ago, I came over to clean your floors, and it was so funny, because when I argued with you that I did not want any money, you shook your cane at me and MADE me take it. I will always cherish the wonderful conversations we would have together. You would talk about when you were growing up and the hard times you endured, we would talk about the news, weather, the canoes coming down the river, we would talk about great times with grandpa Joe and his garden, you would share stories about your family and sometimes we would cry together. I will never forget when you and grandpa Joe took Adam and I up to the cross in the woods up north. Adam was only 4 years old, we drove up there and spent the night in a hotel room. That was so much fun. I remember when Grandpa Joe took Lloyd and I out mushroom picking for the day, I was 4 or 5 months pregnant with Adam at the time. We came back to your place and we all cleaned and bagged the mushrooms. You always had something good cooking on the stove. I also remember coming to your place during hunting season with Lloyd, Billy, Bill and Joe. I bow hunted at the time. But it was always laughter in your home. Such a warm feeling being there. I truly will miss that. Whenever you called me to come over to help you, I always did my best to make time for you. You will never know how much I loved helping you and just being around you. I will never forget at Adam's wedding and how I got you to do the Hokey Pokey with me. Every time I say my grand-daughter Josie's name, I will forever think of you. You are in heaven now, with all of your family and friends who passed before you. Oh, if I could have been there to see that. I bet everyone was standing in line to give you a big hug and kiss. You were loved by all who knew you. You collected angels for as long as I can remember, now you are flying among them. I will see you again someday. I love you grandma.

Grandma josie you will be miss by many. I was very lucky to have you as a grandma growing up. I have so many good memories and story i could go on for days:) i remember i would stay with you and grandpa and break your angels then take off running. You where a great women who loved her grand kids and kids and would do anything to help. When i was little i could not wait to come up for hunting season and stay because there was always something exciting going on. I'm so happy you got to meet your great great grand child who was named after you. I love you very very much and am going to miss you alot. You will never be forgotten.
