Josephine Stella Levandowski's Obituary
Josephine Stella Levandowski, age 94, passed away at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility, Sunday morning August 19, 2012 following a long illness. She was born in Muskegon on June 2, 1918 to Anthony and Catherine (Galick) Boczkaja and prior to moving to Hesperia was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was on the Altar & Rosary Societies. She retired from the paper mill in 1983 and was a former employee at the Norge. After moving to Hesperia in 1974, Josephine became a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, the Rosary Society and the American Legion Post in Hesperia. She married Mr. Joseph Levandowski in Muskegon on May 20, 1939. He preceded her in death in 2004. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert in 1973, a brother, Walter Boczkaja, and 2 sisters, Stella Lampe and Olga Lapajczyk. She is survived by: her daughter, Patricia (Bill) Ingalls of Fruitport; son, Richard Levandowski of Ft. Worth, TX; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Levandowski will be cremated and her ashes interred in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions: American Diabetes Association.
