Dear Lankhorst and Heyboer families,
I’m so sorry and shocked to find out through the GHC newsletter that Karen passed away.
Our friendship goes all the way back to being cheerleaders together at Fremont Christian junior high and WMC. Through the years we only saw each other periodically , but whenever I saw Karen she was such an inspiration to me. Even though she was often struggling with various health issues, I never heard her complain. She was always full of contentment, optimism and joy. Her attention was on others and she always made me feel valued and important. Truly she was a gift to all her knew her.
May you find comfort in the peace of God’s presence as you walk down this difficult road of loss and heartache. May you cherish the legacy of a life well lived in dignity and love for others. And may you grieve with hope, knowing that Karen is now healthy and whole, spending eternity with her risen Savior.

Dear Lankhorst and Heyboer family, I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of your amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She was also a dear friend to so many, including me. We were cheerleaders together at Fremont Christian junior high as well as WMC. Through the years we only saw each other periodically, but with Karen, she always made me feel important and valued. She struggled with many health issues but the only reaction I ever saw was contentment, optimism, and joy. That girl could laugh!
May you feel the comfort of Gods peace in this difficult time of loss. May you find joy in the many memories of a life well lived, and may you rejoice in the legacy of a life well lived, knowing she is now healthy and whole, spending eternity with her risen Savior.

We are so sad that we weren’t able to attend Karen’s visitation and memorial
She will be sorely missed…
From early times at First, playing softball and social activities, as youth group leaders and the trip to the Colorado convention.
Camping, Mackers, tiger baseball games, Sunday nights and Saturday breakfast
And the special treats for Arts birthday
So many fond memories
