Mrs. Katherine ‘Kassy’ M. Smith, age 91, passed away Friday afternoon, February 24, 2012 at Great Lakes Specialty Hospital. She was born September 29, 1920 in Stambaugh, MI to John and Genevieve (Colien) Corbett and has resided in Read Obituary
Bob, Kassy and I were high school classmates and good friends while growing up in Stambaugh. I was deeply saddend to read of her passing in the Reporter. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I'd love to visit with you by phone if you'd like.

Kassy Smith was like a Grandmother to me, which is suiting because we had the same last name. I loved her like family, and though she wasn't related to me by blood, she impacted my life more than I ever truely expressed to her. I hope she is as proud of me now, as much of as I respect the life that she lived. Tears flow down my face as memories of the past. I know that God put her into my life and I thank Him for the time He gave me a spirited woman like Kassy.
