Katherine M. "Katie" Way's Obituary
Mrs. Katherine M. “Katie” Way, age 87, died Saturday afternoon, March 6, 2004. She was born January 28, 1917 in White Cloud, MI to Dominic and Mary (Panozzo) Panozzo and had been a resident of Muskegon for most of her life. Mrs. Way worked for Hardy Herpolsheimer’s for 27 years as a sales clerk. She was a charter member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church, belonged to the St. Francis Guild, the St. Valentine’s Circle, and the Bingo Club. She also volunteered at Mercy Hospital for over 15 years. On January 25, 1936, she married Leslie M. Way in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on March 18, 1980. SURVIVORS include 3 sons, Ronald (Bonnie) Way of Punta Gorda, FL, Dick (Judith) Way of White Cloud, Paul Way of Hesperia; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; 3 brothers, Victor (Nancy) Panozzo, Gene (Una) Panozzo, Rudy (Joyce) Panozzo all of Muskegon; 2 sisters-in-law, Mary Panozzo, Ann Kochmanski; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 1 grandson; 2 great-grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Raymond and Fred Panozzo. THE FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church – Marian Chapel with the Rev. Fr. Thomas G. Simons presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday at
