Kenneth Lee Mitchell Sr.'s Obituary
Kenneth Lee Mitchell Sr., age 86, passed away peacefully at his home on July 19, 2025, in Muskegon, MI. Ken was born on November 16, 1938, to Ruby Witt in Denver Co. and was later adopted by his mother’s second husband Erwin Mitchell. He was drafted by the US Army and proudly served his country from 1962 to 1964. Ken and his wife of 33 years, Barbara (Turpin) Mitchell, loved their dogs and cats, many of which were strays that lived their best life with them. Ken was a laid back and easy-going guy who enjoyed playing golf and loved to watch the Detroit Tigers and Lions. “Mitch” would have wanted to give a shout out to the “The Roaches”, a group of guys that have stayed together since high school. Ken loved his family dearly and enjoyed seeing and hearing about his family’s adventures and the direction their lives were taking them. Ken is survived by his wife, Barbara Mitchell; children: Kenneth (Sandra Sirianni) Mitchell Jr., Darin Mitchell, Scott Mitchell; grandchildren: Amanda (Jason) Cooper, Aaron Mitchell, Macey (Jeremy) Statz, Camille Mitchell; great grandchildren: Cameren Cooper, Katelynn Cooper, Maddy Mitchell, Stella Statz; stepdaughter Kari (Tim) Shields; step-grandchildren: Kailea Shields, Sean Tokay, Lindsey Newman. He is preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Ruby Mitchell; brother, Roy Mitchell; stepdaughter, Shelly Logg, and mother of Kens sons: Doris (Fairbanks) Mitchell.
