Kevin J. Schuitema's Obituary
Mr. Kevin Schuitema, 54, passed away suddenly Sunday, June 6, 2010. Born April 1, 1956 in Muskegon to Alvin J. and Marva (Vanderlaan) Schuitema, he was a life resident of the Muskegon area. He married the former Sharri Hartsema in 1976 and she survives him. Kevin was last employed as a supervisor at Howmet, and had also worked at Amstore and Harbor Industries. He was an active member of Life Change Church, and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, farming and spending time with family. Kevin loved to make people laugh. SURVIVORS include his wife, Sharri; daughters: Heather (Timothy) MacLaren of Twin Lake, Stephanie (Daniel) Johnson of Muskegon, and Kaitlyn at home; grandchildren: Landen Johnson, Kaylah, Austin and Izaak MacLaren; his parents, Alvin and Marva Schuitema of Muskegon; brothers: Carl (Debbie) Schuitema of Kent City and Jay (Deb) Schuitema of Spring Lake; sisters: Barb Schuitema of Muskegon and Julie (Jeff) Wierengo of Ravenna; his father and mother-in-law, David and Millie Hartsema of Muskegon; brother-in-law, Barry (RoChelle) Hartsema of Norton Shores; and many nieces and nephews. The FUNERAL SERVICE for Kevin will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231)-798-1100 with Pastor Ron Rands officiating and interment in Oakhill East Dalton Cemetery. VISITATION will be 5-8 PM Thursday.
