I first met Kyle not in person, but secondhand, via Kandas and Kainan when I was their preschool teacher. They would share "big brother stories" in class, and there was no doubt that they adored and admired him. Occasionally he would accompany Mom to pick up Kandas or Kainan...What a personable and positive person!
My older son remembers how enjoyable it was to play basketball with him on various youth sports teams, and is genuinely sorry about Kyle's passing.
The bottom line: Kyle didn't need to spend lots of time with a person to enrich that person's life. We have lost a good man, and my heart aches not only for his family, but for the loss of his goodness in this world as well.
Hello, my name is Ofc. Marla Booher with GRPD and I've known Kyle since he was hired. Just last week I was with Kyle on a burglary. A house was broken into while the owner was away on vacation and I called for forensics and Kyle responded. The homeowner was a big rugby fan and he and Kyle started talking about sports. Kyle mentioned to the homeowner what position he had played in college and I said "But Kyle, isn't that position for small guys?". Kyle just laughed as he always did and took the ribbing in stride. Kyle was quiet but always nice and easy to work with and he had a great attitude. I will miss him.
