Kyle K. Grant's Obituary
Kyle K. Grant, age 27, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. He was born on July 19, 1990 to Kenneth and Kelly (Robertson) Grant in Muskegon. Kyle graduated from Whitehall High School in 2008 and went on to graduate from Grand Valley State University with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2012. He worked for the Grand Rapids Police Department for five years as a Crime Scene Technician and was recently promoted to Latent Prints Examiner. Kyle was a kind, honest and reliable person. He had a contagious smile and laugh that lit up every room he walked in. He loved football, especially U of M, hunting, traveling, quoting movies and spending time with his family. He is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Kelly Grant; fiancé, Lindsey Karpowicz and her family; siblings, Kandas (Zack) Wildey, Kainan Grant; big “sister”, Amanda (Jared) Wiggins and he was “Uncle Panzy” to their children Madi and Clayton Wiggins; grandparents, Donald Grant, Diane Lapinksi, David and Barbara Robertson; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Patricia Grant and Ted Lapinksi. VISITATION with Kyle’s family will take place on Monday, January 8, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231-798-1100) from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. A FUNERAL SERVICE will take place on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Oakhurst Cemetery at a later date. For a more lasting memory, donations in Kyle’s name can be made to the Grand Rapids Police Department Foundation.
