Lanny Jack Paul's Obituary
Lanny J. Paul, age 75, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018. He was born in Muskegon on September 8, 1943 to Jack and Ruth (Jankiewicz) Paul and lived in the area his entire life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during the Vietnam War. On July 30, 1986, he married the former Betty J. Tanis. Lanny worked as an experimental mechanic for Teledyne Continental Motors and retired in 1988 after 20 years. He was a member of Laketon Bethel Reformed Church where he volunteered for the food trucks and church garage sales. Lanny especially enjoyed camping at Ponchos Pond in Ludington. He collected Franklin Mint cars and watches. Lanny also frequented flea markets and yard sales. SURVIVORS include his wife, Betty J. Paul; 2 sons, Scott Paul and Charles Paul; 2 step-children, Michelle Schillaci and Scott Miller; 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; one brother, Jon (Sheri) Paul; and his special companion, “Chloe”. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Judy Gorajec; and 1 brother, Alan Paul. A FUNERAL SERVICE with Military Honors will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 9, 2018 at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church (1568 W. Giles Rd.) with Rev. Dr. Sherwin Brantsen officiating. VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service, 10-11 AM Friday at church. INTERMENT will take place at Laketon Township Cemetery.
