Mr. Larry L. Seastrom's Obituary
Larry Lee Seastrom, age 75, died Sunday, February 19, 2017 in his Muskegon, MI home under hospice care. He was born in Muskegon, MI on December 1, 1941 to the late Leonard and Dorothy (Hamel) Seastrom.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Leann (Shear) Seastrom, of Casnovia, MI.
He is also survived by his daughters Lisa (Lynn) Lively, Julie Zaebst, and Susan (Joe Dodsworth) Seastrom; son Jeff (John Coe) Seastrom; grandchildren Matthew (Laura) Wilson, Keegan Obenauf Seastrom, Mia and Samara Zaebst, Dominick, Natalie, and Joshua Cherry, and Vanessa Dodsworth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Seastrom.
Larry graduated from North Muskegon High School in 1960. He served in the United States Air Force 1964-1968 with one year of active service in Vietnam. Upon the end of his military service, he returned to his father’s business, Port City Neon Sign, Co., working along with his brothers. He continued on as president and a highly respected and sought after crane operator throughout the community. After selling the sign business, Larry continued working with his crane as, Larry’s Crane Service, until his final retirement in 2014.
Larry enjoyed family and friend time with the swimming pool, picnics, kayaking, and a lifetime of sailing and boating. He and his wife were foster parents for 10 years and hosted exchange students.
Larry was an active member of Central United Methodist church in Muskegon for 33 years. He was active with the North Side Lions for 25 years enjoying an eye glass mission trip to Peru.
Central United Methodist Church will be hosting visitation for the family Friday, February 24, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm and one hour prior to the memorial service Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 1:00pm. Reverend Mark Miller officiating.
