Mr Larry Arthur Westerlind's Obituary
Larry A. Westerlind, age 65, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in Grand Rapids. Larry was born May 27, 1951 to Melvin and Edith (DeVries) Westerlind in Muskegon. On January 30, 1976, he married Bonnie Johnson. Larry was employed as a machine operator at Top-Line Hylift, and prior to that, V&B Manufacturing and Muskegon Tool. He enjoyed birdwatching, yard work, casino trips and getting together with family and friends. He was also a great salesman who loved interacting with people. Larry enjoyed cruises; his favorites were to Hawaii and Alaska. He had a great love for music and also for his dog, Lil’ Bit. He is SURVIVED by his wife of 41 years, Bonnie; his sisters, Sherry (Rev. John) DeBoer, Sandy (Daniel) Pickett; his mother-in-law, Joan Johnson; brother-in-law, John Johnson; sister-in-law, Dawn (Tom) Friday; “sister”, Dale Alexander; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, Monroe Johnson and his very good friend, Bill Alexander. In accordance with his wishes a private family service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or American Cancer Society for pancreatic cancer research.
