Laura M. Scraver's Obituary
Mrs. Laura M. Scraver, age 82, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2010 in Muskegon. She was born in Muskegon on January 4, 1928 to Edward and Dorothy (Burns) Sturgeon and had been a resident of the area for most of her life. Mrs. Scraver had worked as an accountant at Universal Camshaft and Midwest Machine before retiring in the early 90’s. She was a member of The Red Hat Society, was an avid flower gardener and always kept an immaculate yard. On August 27, 1960, Laura married William J. Scraver and he preceded her in death on May 4, 2004. She is survived by 5 children, William C. (Becky) Scraver, Michele (Jim) Bartley, Rita R. Gruszecki, Kimberly (David) Vargas and Trisa (Thomas) Laughlin; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Alice (Beaut) Amburgey and Joyce (William) Hull. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Cynthia Mahoney and Barbara Hayes. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Sunrise Memorial Gardens Chapel. VISITATION will be from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210.
