Laurence “Larry” George Visconti passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 9, 2025. He was hand in hand with beloved family members when he took his final breath. Larry was born on March 25, 1954, to parents Laur Read Obituary
So sad to hear of Larry‘s passing. My fondest memories of him are during our junior high and high school years in Roseville.
Our lives changed forever in 7th grade when we met Larry and his buddies who lived on the other side of 12 mile! We spent many hours/years hanging out at Rotary Park, school & the neighborhood making lifelong friends.
I was so excited to see him again at our 40th high school reunion & meet his lovely wife. Fortunately, we were able to keep in touch a bit on social media through the years.
I love reading all the memories of Larry that people have shared. It is evident that he has touched many hearts and lives, living his life to its fullest.

We were very saddened to hear of Larry’s passing. He was such a great, affable guy. We’ve known Larry and many of the Visconti clan in Muskegon for nearly 50 years, ever since Visconti’s Tavern opened on Pine St. Visconti’s was our favorite watering hole, loved for its diverse patrons from the neighborhood, the County Building, lawyers, judges and others from throughout the Muskegon community. In fact we and a couple of other Visconti regulars decided to buy the pub, rather than lose it when the Visconti family wanted to divest. We renamed the bar “J.P. Allen’s” and pledged to carry on the ambiance, good cheer and friendly pub environment that characterized Visconti’s—also, the great the softball team! I think we did a fair job of continuing the Visconti legacy and Larry’s role in it. In this time of sorrow, we sincerely feel the family’s loss. Here’s to Larry!

Sorry to learn of Larry’s passing. I was out of touch with him in later years. My last meeting with him was a delightful lunch at Bear Lake Tavern, where he told me what he was doing at MCC. I first met Larry when he moved to Muskegon to open Visconti’s Taverne and I worked with him there that first summer. He was always kind and considerate of other people. My condolences to all the Visconti family and to Larry’s friends.
