Laurence C. "Larry" McCarthy's Obituary
Mr. Laurence C. “Larry” McCarthy, 63, passed away early Sunday, January 2, 2011 at his home. Born January 10, 1947 to Duane McCarthy and Jean (Misner) Crocker, he was a life resident of Muskegon. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and had been employed as a machinist at Automatic Spring Products Corp. for 33 years. Larry was a member of First Baptist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3195. His SURVIVORS include a son, Jason McCarthy and a daughter, Laura McCarthy both of Muskegon; his father, Duane McCarthy of Copemish, MI; four grandchildren; three half-brothers and one step-brother; four half-sisters; his former spouse and friend Shirley McCarthy of Muskegon; best friend Rod Zimmer; and his feline friend Mr. Socks. His mother, Jean Crocker, preceded him in death in January, 2007. A TIME OF REMEMBRANCE for Larry will be held 2 to 6 PM Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at First Baptist Church, 1070 S. Quarterline Rd. At 4:00 PM a memorial service with Pastor John Brown officiating and military rites under the auspices of VFW Post 3195 will be held. In lieu of flowers MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to First Baptist Church would be appreciated.
